Transcript Requests
Students can request an official copy of their transcript—a student’s academic record embossed with the College seal—from the Office of the Registrar.
Processing a request takes 7 to 10 business days and is handled by Student Records. Students should be aware that official transcripts cannot be processed “on the spot” and should plan accordingly for requests to be sent/received on a timely basis. Requests are not processed when a student has a financial obligation to the College (a “hold” on the student’s account).
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) prohibits disclosure of information from a student’s transcript to third parties without written consent of the student. In order for Student Records to release an official copy of a transcript, written and signed authorization must be submitted, in person or by mail. Requests cannot be honored by telephone or e-mail.
The transcript request form can be downloaded and used to submit a request. A letter of request must include the following:
- Complete name, including maiden name or any other name(s) previously used
- Social Security number
- Date of Birth
- Dates of attendance or graduation date, if known
- Current mailing address and phone number
- The student’s signature
- Destination—name of recipient(s)/school(s), including street, city, state, and zip
- Number of copy/copies being requested
- If currently enrolled, indication of whether the transcript should be released after final grades for the semester have been recorded or after degree has been conferred
All requests must include payment of $2.00 for each transcript being sent. A request will be processed only if all obligations to the College have been met. Checks or money orders should be payable to “Cape Cod Community College” and sent to:
